New Duplex Fouling Release Coating System Works Without Toxins

Fouling release coatings provide a low-energy surface that prevents fouling species from adhering to the ship's surface. And while other fouling release systems have a similar surface coat silicone to the FHSM system, that is where the similarit ies end. The FUJIFILM Hunt Duplex Fouling Release system differentiates itself from others in several very distinct ways:

• Due to the unique properties of the Tie Coat and the use of special bonding chemistries at the Epoxy – Tie Coat interface, the FHSM system has been engineered for superior adhesion and strength compared to the other silicone systems . This will translate into improved resistance to delamination and longer service life.
• The FHSM system is significantly thicker than competitive products, ensuring superior strength, durability and life expectancy.
• FHSM incorporates a superior release, proprietary silicone oil in the Surface Coat that creates a system where by very low fouling release speeds can be achieved.
• The Duplex Fouling Release System has unique self-leveling characteristics that result in a super-smooth surface. This property results in speed and fuel efficiencies greater than 10% as compared to traditional copper ablative systems in marine applications.
